Who we are

pickleandthepuppy.com is the website for The Pickle, the Patch, and the Puppy by Jason Plotkin, published by Pinder Plotkin Legal Team. We treat the information you share with care, and we don’t sell it — ever.

What we collect

Information you give us: when you request the Bravery Journal or contact us, we collect what you enter — typically your name and email address, and, if you choose to share it, your child’s first name.

Information collected automatically: like most websites, we may collect browser data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time on page, through analytics tools and cookies. You can refuse cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may work less well.

How we use it

We use your information to deliver the Bravery Journal and rung certificates, send the follow-up email series you opted into, reply to your inquiries, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Emails are sent through our customer-communications platform, which processes your information on our behalf.

Analytics and session recording

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use this site. Clarity captures behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay — how you move through pages, where you click and scroll, and where you get stuck. This is captured using first- and third-party cookies and similar tracking technologies.

We use it for one purpose: to find the parts of this site that are confusing or broken, so we can fix them. We do not use Clarity for advertising.

Microsoft also collects and uses this data for its own purposes. For details, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

You can limit or block this at any time by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings.

Children’s privacy

This site is for parents and grown-ups, not children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The optional “child’s first name” field is provided by you, the parent, and is used only to personalize the emails and certificates we send you. Ask us anytime and we’ll delete it.

When we share information

We share personal information only with: service providers who run our email, forms, and hosting (they process it for us, not for themselves); authorities when required by law or to protect public safety; and a successor entity if the book’s publishing assets are ever transferred. That’s it — no selling, no third-party marketing lists.

Email choices

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you’re out — no hard feelings, and the journal is still yours.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you, provide a copy of it, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. You may also ask us to stop sending you email at any time.

To make a request, email jason@pickleandthepuppy.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will respond within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will only ask for the information necessary to do that.

We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a lesser quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how these signals should be handled, this site does not currently respond to them. You can still limit tracking by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings.

Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage over the Internet is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

No attorney-client relationship

Communicating with us through this website does not create an attorney-client relationship with Pinder Plotkin Legal Team or any attorney.

Changes to this policy

Updates take effect when posted here. If we make material changes, we’ll note it on this page.
